Kara L. Wiechmann, Pastor
Rev. Kara L. Wiechmann grew up in South Dakota but has lived in several states and even Germany for a year as a foreign exchange student. She attended Augustana College (now Augustana University) in Sioux Falls, majoring in Religion and minoring in German and Philosophy. She received her Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St Paul, MN. In June 2011, she was ordained in her hometown and moved to rural North Dakota to begin her ministry. After 6.5 years of serving Lutheran and Presbyterian congregations in ND, she accepted a call and began serving Bethel Lutheran in Bartonville in January 2018. Her main passions for ministry are leading worship, fellowshipping, and studying and teaching the Bible.
Pastor Kara enjoys reading, hiking, traveling to new places, napping on her couch with her dog Ziggy, making up words, and collecting projects to scrapbook, sew or crochet.
Walter J. Stout, Organist & Parish Secretary
Walter J. Stout has served as organist at Bethel since November 2010. A church musician since 1976, he has served churches ranging in size from 12 members to 1,500 families in Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois. He holds degrees in Music performance from Texas State University, San Marcos, and the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma and completed post graduate work at the University of North Texas and the University of Oklahoma.
He began work as Bethel’s parish secretary in January, 2013. He also serves as an Adjunct professor of Musicianship and Class Piano at Illinois Central College in East Peoria.
Danielle E. S. Rohrer, Director of Adult Choir & Bells of Glory
A native of Bartonville, Illinois, Danielle E. S. Rohrer has been an active church musician since the age of 13. Mrs. Rohrer has served in various positions including choral director, bell choir director, and pianist since 2001 at Bethel Lutheran in Bartonville. She is also a very active member of the church and serves on various committees including Worship & Music, Youth & Family/Education and VBS. For the past five years she has accompanied the choral department at Illini Bluffs and the band department at Pekin- Rankin. Previously she taught in both public and private schools in the central Illinois region.
Mrs. Rohrer has served on the Parks and Recreation Board in Bartonville as well as being a member of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) and Handbell Musicians of America.
